Run for charity with celebs
Resorts World Manila (RWM) is up and running again. The integrated resort announced that registration for its annual “Run With Me” charity race on Sept. 10 at McKinley West, Taguig, is now open to the public.
“Run With Me” is a one-of-a-kind race with celebrities leading five teams to the finish line for a good cause. Proceeds for this year’s run will go to the Children of Resorts World Manila (COR) Foundation, which was created for the benefit of the children of the victims of the unfortunate June 2 incident at RWM.
The foundation will also guarantee the scholarship of these children all the way up to collegiate level, and will provide a trust fund until they graduate. They will also be guaranteed employment at any company within the Alliance Global Group after they have gained their college degrees.
Last year, the inaugural “Run With Me” saw 800 runners participate in a 7-km charity fun run in celebration of the integrated resort’s 7th year in operation. RWM employees, partners, and special celebrity guests came together at the McKinley West Park to run and donate a total of P1.3 million for the benefit of Caritas Manila, the Lola Grande Foundation for Women and Children, The Tzu Chi Foundation, and White Cross Philippines.
Now on its second year, “Run With Me” has three categories—21K, 10K, and 5K—with fees of P1,500, P1,000, and P850, respectively, inclusive of singlet, race bib, and timing chip. Those participating in the 10K and 21K categories will also earn a medal and loot bag, plus a finisher’s shirt for 21K finishers.
Interested runners may register at regonline.activeglobal.com/runwithme2017 and pay via credit card and PayPal, or through prepaid cards available at select-Chris Sports branches until Aug. 29.
Manual registration is also possible through participating Chris Sports outlets.
