Typhoon Danas entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility Sunday afternoon and was named Ramil by the weather bureau. Ramil is the first cyclone to visit the country this month and the 18th this year. Weather Forecaster Joey Figuracion said Ramil entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility around 2 p.m. on Sunday, but it was too far to affect any part of the country and was not expected to make landfall. He said Ramil was forecast to move northwest at 26 kph and to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday afternoon. Mindanao, Western Visayas and Palawan will continue to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain until Monday because of the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone. The rest of the country including Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain and thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
