The SGV Foundation launched recently the search for the 2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Philippines 2013 on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) cable television show Mornings@ANC. This is the 10th anniversary of the program that has recognized 141 men and women entrepreneurs since 2003.
The theme for the 2013 search is “Breaking Barriers.”
The launch also included the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the SGV Foundation and its co-presenters, namely: the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Business for Social Progress, the Philippine Stock Exchange, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, and the University of the Philippines College of Business Administration.
Since its inception in 2003, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Philippines program has become one of the most prestigious events for the local business community. The program will run for more than nine months, from the nomination period to selection, judging, and finally the awarding of winners on October 16.
The search is open to all Filipino entrepreneurs. To be eligible, a nominee has to be a Filipino business owner or founder who is primarily responsible for the growth of his or her company. The nominee must still be active in business, which must have been in operation for at least two years. A completed nomination form, audited financial statements and other documents are required for a nomination to be considered for further judging. Nominations will be accepted until May 31, 2013.
