DPWH wins Trailblazer Award
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) won the Trailblazer Award after garnering the highest performance report rating among the national government agencies during the recent bi-annual Public Governance Forum, officials said on Sunday.
According to the Institute of Solidarity in Asia, the DPWH “demonstrated continued determination to institutionalize good governance and deliver breakthrough results.”
It said the agency garnered a rating of 9.08 out of the 10 from the revalida report presented to a group of panelists by DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson on paving and upgrading of national roads, construction of permanent bridges, and implementation of major flood control projects.
“While DPWH continues to transform itself into a good results-based government agency under a new era of good governance, the agency never wavered from its focus of delivering the right infrastructure needed to sustain the country’s economic development,” Singson said.
Last year, the DPWH also received the Governance Excellence Zeal, the highest rating among participating agencies for outstanding progress under the good governance program.
