SAP expands operations
A NEW office has been opened in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. This new SAP office will serve as the new hub of the SAP shared services team for Sales and Finance. As part of the shared services facility for Sales, SAP Philippines will set up a call center in the new office to support sales requirements across Asia. This initiative, named “Project Nucleus,” aims to double the staff strength by next year. In addition, the SAP shared services team for Finance in the new office will provide back office finance support for SAP companies globally.
This is SAP’s 60th office in Asia Pacific Japan and also the third SAP office in the Philippines. SAP has two offices in Fort Bonfacio, Taguig, catering to the domestic market and another center in Ortigas managing the company’s HR consulting and shared services for SAP and customers globally. SAP has been operating in the Philippines for 19 years.
Nearly 60 perent of SAP”s employees in the Philippines belong to the millennial generation, born between 1982 and 2000, and considered to be at the center of technology adoption and innovation. The design of the new Ortigas office caters largely to these digital natives and encourages collaboration, and creative thinking.
Skill development initiatives and commitment to the community are part of SAP’s value system which the company has successfully replicated in the Philippines market. Under the SAP University Alliances program, SAP technologies and best practices are taken to classrooms across 15 universities in the Philippines. SAP has continuously worked on nurturing highly qualified graduates with skills critical to the millennial workforce. Annually, over 2,000 students benefit from this program in the Philippines.
SAP and the Autism Society Philippines recently partnered in a pilot project which aims to improve the quality of care provided to those with autism with the help of Care Circles, an SAP service for tablets and smartphones which makes it easy to find and deliver the best information about care. Earlier this year, SAP donated €325,000 (around P20 million) to rebuild 70 houses and a community health center on Bantayan Island, Cebu for victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). A four-hectare area was provided for the new village, which will be called “SAP Solidarity Fund Village.”
